Mel's Fish Shack

The mission for the morning was to check out El Mac and Retna's "The Knight."    I did the research on the internet.  Mac's Knight was on the corner of Jefferson and Chesapeak.  The night before I did a cyber driveby using Google Earth and there it was:

I headed down Jefferson Blvd early.  I saw a couple of murals on the way out there but I would check those out on the way home.  I wanted to get The Knight in first light.

When I got there I found The Knight had been tagged.  That's why we take pictures my friends.

I sat and looked at it for a few minutes drinking my coffee.  I only took two pictures.  And headed back down Jefferson.

Presently I drove by this little gem.

There was a car parked right in front of the painting but I did manage to get a couple of good shots.

I don't know who the artist is but really beautiful, IMO.  And the color is nice.  I must remember to come by again maybe there won't be a car next time.  It's South facing so it's good all day for sun.

Presently I drove by this:

It's moments like this that my eyes pop out and I hit the brakes.  I really don't know how I did it but I had driven right by this on my way out.

Mel's Fish Shack...

The color is outstanding.

And... it was about 1pm so clearly lunch time.

I tried the fried oysters and they were to die for.  Yum.

The cook was a nice guy.  He came over to ask me how I was doing.  I told him the oysters were Killer.  He smiled and told me I should try the oyster sandwich next time.

Next time....

I got back into my car and head further east on Jefferson.
